A Message from the Patron of Hyde Park Appeal
His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent GCVO
When The Queen Elizabeth Gate was opened in July 1993, a commitment was made to provide better access to the Royal Parks in perpetuity for the elderly, the disabled and the infirm.
Many people engaged in their care tell me that this will mean much more to the physically handicapped than an outing in the countryside as it will give them the opportunity to be out of doors in their local surroundings. This was a recreation that should have been a regular part of their lives but has been denied them till now through their lack of mobility.
